Test Engineer (Electrical Testing & Quality Assurance)
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and conscientious Test Engineer to join our team.
This position has arisen due to a planned retirement, and we are looking for someone to join us before the end of the year to allow for a comprehensive handover and knowledge transfer.
This is a varied role that combines electrical testing, quality assurance, and inspection activities within a busy manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the quality, safety, and performance of our products before they reach our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical testing and inspection of electrical control panels
- Carrying out live testing activities safely and accurately
- Testing of motors and cable assemblies, including large batch testing
- Identifying and resolving faults and non-conformances
- Ensuring products meet company and customer quality standards
- Maintaining accurate test records and documentation
- Assisting with quality assurance and continuous improvement activities
- Conducting mechanical inspections where required
- Working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams
About You
We are looking for a practical and detail-oriented individual with a strong electrical engineering background.
Essential
- Experience in electrical testing and inspection
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good understanding of electrical safety procedures
- High attention to detail and quality standards
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable
- Experience testing control panels
- Inspection and quality assurance experience within a manufacturing environment
- Electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC/HND or equivalent)
- Mechanical inspection experience
