The Just Recruitment Group is currently recruiting for a CNC Sliding Head Setter/Operator for a precision engineering company based in Braintree, Essex, working a 37 hour week rotating early and late shifts.

Early Shift
Monday - Thursday: 06:00am - 14:00pm
Friday: 06:00am - 13:30pm.

Late Shift
Monday - Thursday: 14:00pm - 22:00pm
Friday: 13:30pm - 21:00pm.

Successful candidate will be responsible for operating a number of CNC Sliding Head machines. Role will involve operating and setting several CNC sliding head lathes. Loading and running programs through prove out according to the tools list and works instructions. Producing a valid first-off component in-line with the component drawing and quality requirements. Loading and operating machines to meet desired quantities. Conducting in-process inspection, checking against drawings and specifications to ensure they are made accurately to the highest standards. Completion of all QA records. Following and in full compliance with all site H&S procedures. Selecting the correct tooling and setting the machines as required to produce quality.

Skills:

  • Experience in setting and operating CNC Sliding Head lathes.
  • Experience of reading and understanding engineering drawings and tolerances.
  • Proficiency in a range of measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
  • Ideally candidates will be Apprentice served in an engineering environment.
  • Must have previous experience of CNC setting and problem solving, be familiar with Fanuc or Siemens CNC programming.
  • Be self-sufficient in quality control, 1st off approval and in process quality consistency checks.
