Elevation Recruitment Group are working with an engineering company near Bradford to recruit a Head of Engineering. This Head of Engineering role offers full ownership of the engineering function, with a focus on leadership, continuous improvement, project delivery, and systems development. Working closely with the senior leadership team, the Head of Engineering will play a key role in driving operational performance, standardising engineering processes, and supporting future growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership to a multi-disciplinary team
  • Standardise and optimise design processes, ensuring alignment with BOM structures and the ERP system
  • Rationalise current engineering practices to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality
  • Lead cross-disciplinary design review meetings and drive lessons learned implementation
  • Take hands-on ownership of design process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to health & safety, quality, and ISO standards
  • Review and implement new technologies and design tools to maintain competitive advantage
  • Deliver projects against deadlines within a fast-paced, bespoke engineering environment

We are keen to speak with Engineering Managers / Head of Engineering with the following:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical engineering principles
  • Experience working with heavy, bespoke machinery or complex engineered products
  • Proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams
  • Demonstrated experience delivering results against deadlines
  • Hands-on leadership experience with the ability to grow and shape a team
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and coaching engineers
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
