Are you a CAD Technician looking for an opportunity to develop your technical design skills and work on a diverse range of projects?
We are currently recruiting for a CAD Technician to join an established and growing Design team based in Bradford.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop beyond traditional drawing production and gain broader experience across technical design, drainage, earthworks, levels and construction information.
Working closely with designers, engineers, project managers and specialist consultants, you will play an important role in developing coordinated technical designs from initial concepts through to construction.
This is a varied role where you will have the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of UK based projects.
Key Responsibilities as CAD Technician
- Prepare and develop General Arrangement drawings and associated technical information
- Develop drainage designs, including layouts, pipe networks, chambers, falls, levels and outfalls
- Undertake earthworks and levels modelling, including proposed surfaces, gradients and contours
- Prepare cross sections, detailed construction build ups and construction details
- Develop coordinated technical drawing packages from concept through to construction
- Interpret topographical surveys, site information, architectural layouts and other technical documentation
- Coordinate drainage, earthworks, levels and associated infrastructure with other project disciplines
- Work closely with Design and Development teams to develop practical and buildable technical solutions
- Update drawings and designs in response to client comments and project requirements
- Ensure drawings and technical information are produced accurately and to the required standards
- Manage drawing revisions and contribute to the timely delivery of project information
- Support multiple projects and manage workloads effectively
What we're looking for as a CAD Technician
- Strong working knowledge of Auto CAD
- Experience using Civil 3D for levels, surfaces, earthworks and/or drainage design
- Experience producing General Arrangement drawings, cross sections, construction details and technical drawing packages
- A good understanding of drainage design, earthworks, levels, gradients and falls
- Ability to interpret topographical surveys and existing site information
- Understanding of cut and fill principles and site level coordination
- An understanding of construction materials and how technical designs translate into practical solutions
- Strong technical drawing and detailing skills
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects
- A willingness to learn and develop within a multidisciplinary Design team
- Experience working with Revit, Navisworks or within BIM led project environments would be advantageous
- A degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship or equivalent professional experience in Civil Engineering, Construction, CAD or a relevant technical discipline would be advantageous
- Previous experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, drainage, land development or a multidisciplinary design environment would be beneficial
