Job Description

We are looking for an experienced book designer who is also a capable editor and graphic designer.

\n

The UK-based Wooden Books publishing house specialises in highly compressed, information-dense, pocket books. Our team consists entirely of strong all-rounders who can not only design a book but can also research and generate any graphics necessary for the subject and finally edit and sometimes even ghost-write the author's text to fit the available space. Our books are born of collaborative journeys with our authors.

\n

Ideally, you will be someone who is fluent in InDesign and Photoshop. A native English speaker with good editorial senses, and a classical high-quality book designer. You will be an intelligent and interested person, capable of editing books on subjects as diverse as music, mathematics, comedy, economics, meditation, physics, and animism.

\n

This is a part-time position, and you will be able to choose how many books you wish to work on in a year and the timeframes in which you will complete them. We are looking for a long-term working relationship with the right candidate. Our books are available to browse on our website at woodenbooks .com. Please do not apply if you do not think our books are for you.
