Financial Reporting Manager
Location: Blackburn
Salary: Circa 60k + Benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Accountant to join a fast growing, acquisitive organisation.

This is a high impact role within the finance function, offering the opportunity to shape the financial integration of newly acquired businesses while supporting strategic finance initiatives.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead the accounting and onboarding of acquisitions, oversee statutory reporting processes, and manage a specialist onboarding team.

You'll also play a key role in major finance transformation projects.

We're looking for a technically strong finance professional who thrives in a changing environment and enjoys improving processes while leading others.

This would be an ideal opportunity for a first time mover, ideally at Assistant Manager level or a couple of years post qualified.

Or someone already in industry in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business combination accounting for newly acquired businesses.
  • Manage purchase price allocations, opening balance sheets and net asset valuations.
  • Review acquisition structures to ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Build strong relationships with business partners to ensure a smooth transition into the Group.
  • Lead and develop the Onboarding team while coordinating shared resources across the wider finance function.
  • Lead the technical review of a large portfolio of statutory accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Support the Group's transition to IFRS, including technical analysis and implementation.
  • Assist with audit and wider financial reporting activities.
  • Oversee VAT compliance processes and provide technical support where required.

You'll ideally have

  • Qualified Accountant status (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience of IFRS implementation or finance transformation projects would be advantageous.
