Elite Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a growing and successful business based in Birmingham for an experienced Technical Catering Engineer to join their expanding team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified engineer who is looking to move into a predominantly office-based role whilst still utilising their technical expertise.

Working within a supportive and professional environment, you will be the first point of contact for customers experiencing equipment breakdowns or service issues.

The Role

As a Technical Catering Engineer, you will provide telephone-based technical support to customers, helping to diagnose faults and resolve issues remotely wherever possible.

Where a repair cannot be completed over the phone, you will arrange for an engineer to attend site.

The role is mainly office based; however, there may be occasional visits to customer sites when additional support is required.

A company vehicle will be provided for any site visits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking inbound calls from customers experiencing equipment faults or breakdowns.
  • Diagnosing technical issues over the telephone.
  • Guiding customers through troubleshooting procedures to resolve faults remotely.
  • Determining when an engineer visit is required and arranging call-outs.
  • Providing excellent customer service and technical support.
  • Updating customer records and service information accurately.
  • Liaising with engineers and internal departments to ensure swift resolution of issues.
  • Occasionally attending customer sites to provide technical assistance when required.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Gas Safe Engineer.
  • Relevant electrical qualifications and experience.
  • Previous experience working on commercial catering equipment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
