An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Press Setter Operator to join a leading manufacturing business in Birmingham.
The successful candidate will set and operate power presses and associated production machinery, ensuring components are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

- AM shift: £15.13 per hour, including a 7.5% allowance

Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate power presses ranging from 20 to 250 tonnes.
- Manufacture high-quality components to engineering drawings and specified tolerances.
- Complete tool changes, adjustments and machine set-ups using the appropriate tooling, jigs and fixtures.
- Perform first-off inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring equipment.
- Ensure products are manufactured to specification and meet the required quality standards.
- Work closely with Production Coordinators and Engineers to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Follow production schedules and achieve daily output targets.
- Maintain accurate production and traceability documentation.
- Identify and report machine faults or production issues promptly.
- Support the training and development of colleagues where required.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and follow 5S principles.
- Work in accordance with all health and safety procedures.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have
- A minimum of two years' experience setting and operating power presses within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with presses ranging from 20 to 250 tonnes.
- The ability to read engineering drawings and manufacture components to tight tolerances.
- Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges.
- Good mechanical aptitude, including tooling changes and machine adjustments.
- Basic computer literacy.
- GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English are desirable.
