We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused GI Consultant to join our General Insurance team in Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with insurance experience who enjoys building customer relationships, delivering tailored advice, and achieving results within a supportive and collaborative environment.

What You'll Be Doing

As a GI Consultant, you will play a key role in helping customers protect what matters most through our Home, Motor and Travel Insurance products.

You will be responsible for

  • Providing tailored advice to customers on Home, Motor and Travel Insurance policies.
  • Managing inbound and outbound customer calls regarding renewals, policy changes, and new business opportunities.
  • Delivering against individual and team income, retention, and service targets.
  • Identifying opportunities to cross-sell related products and generate quality referrals.
  • Supporting customers with policy amendments, premium recalculations, and payment updates.
  • Ensuring customer documentation is accurate, compliant, and issued promptly.
  • Taking ownership of customer queries and complaints, resolving issues efficiently and professionally.
  • Delivering outstanding customer outcomes while working within FCA, IDD and company regulatory standards.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Understanding of delivering an advice-led customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of financial services and regulated environments.
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Organised, self-motivated and target driven.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.

Desirable

  • Experience in Home, Motor or General Insurance sales and/or renewals.
  • Experience using CDL systems.
  • Cert CII qualification (or working towards).
  • Understanding of insurance brokers and insurer relationships.
  • Knowledge of mutual organisations.
  • Awareness of the professional customer segments Wesleyan serves, including Doctors, Dentists, Teachers, and Lawyers.
