A Service Engineer is required for a hugely established OEM of CNC and automation machinery for the glass processing industry.
This globally recognised leader of specialist capital equipment is seeking an electrically biased Service Engineer to join their team.
You will be required to travel nationwide to install, commission and repair machinery.
They have a strong network of Engineers across the UK which enables the business to provide the very best service to all of their customers.
Benefits include a basic salary of £44K depending on experience, plus an OTE of £75-100k with travel time paid door to door.
Overtime is paid at Tx1.5 hours after 40 hours during the week and Saturday, Tx2 hours Sunday, choice of either hybrid car or van, overnight allowance when working away including meals, credit card for all expenses and fuel, 33 days holiday including bank holidays, a generous pension scheme, private healthcare, and life assurance.
Responsibilities for the Service Engineer include -
- Nationwide travel to carry out installation & commissioning of special purpose machinery.
- Carry out breakdown maintenance repairs both electrically and mechanically.
- Routine service and inspection visits.
- Fault-finding on Allen-Bradley PLCs to work out faults and carry out corrective works.
- Providing end-user support to customers as well as training and equipment demonstrations.
- Nationwide travel including overnight stays during installation projects.
There is a robust training package which is largely based around job shadowing other engineers to learn the products and how they're built, but there will also be some overseas training in Europe during the probation period too.
The role involves travel and staying away from home regularly; overtime and weekend working is part of this position.
All Engineers must be willing and able to travel and stay away from home at short notice.
To be successful in this position, we're looking for the following previous experience and skills
- Previously a Field Service Engineer of capital equipment or heavy industry machinery.
- Hold an HNC or HNC in electrical or electronic engineering.
- Have a solid understanding of PLC's and how to fault-find.
- A strong knowledge of power supplies, controls and electrical test equipment is essential.
- Flexibility to travel nationwide, with regular overnight stays.
- Clean driver's licence.
