Broker/Business Development Manager
Circa 40k/50k Basic + Sales Bonus + Benefits Package

We're currently supporting a leading global insurer as they look to appoint a Business/Broker Development Manager to join their UK distribution team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious insurance professional looking to develop their career in a highly visible, market-facing role.

The position would suit an individual with experience in underwriting, broker development, account management, account handling or another client-facing insurance role who enjoys building relationships, working closely with brokers and identifying opportunities for growth.

Previous Business Development experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as the business is keen to consider individuals with the right commercial mindset and relationship-building capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with Network members and Independent Brokers, acting as a key point of contact.
  • Work with brokers to understand their business plans, identify growth opportunities and demonstrate how the business can support their ambitions.
  • Conduct regular broker reviews, analysing account performance, MI and pipeline activity to drive profitable growth.
  • Support the achievement of new business and retention targets through effective relationship management and market engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maximise trading opportunities and strengthen broker partnerships.
  • Represent the business in the market, attending broker meetings, networking events and industry functions.

About You

  • Experience within the insurance market, whether in underwriting, account handling, account executive, broker development, sales or a client-facing commercial role.
  • A strong relationship builder who enjoys working closely with brokers and developing long-term partnerships.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to spot opportunities for growth and turn conversations into business opportunities.
  • Looking to develop a career in a market-facing role.

This position would suit an Underwriter, Account Handler or Account Executive seeking a move into business development and distribution.

  • Knowledge of commercial insurance products would be advantageous, although product training and support will be provided.
  • Motivated, proactive and comfortable building a presence in the market.
