Banking & Finance Solicitor (Partner), 6+ Years PQE, Birmingham, £Highly competitive (DOE) – We're looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Banking & Finance Partner to join a Birmingham team and play a leading role in developing the practice across the Midlands.

THE ROLE

  • This is an opportunity for an established Partner, or a senior Banking & Finance lawyer ready to make the move into Partnership, to join a growing and collaborative firm where you can combine high-quality transactional work with genuine responsibility for client development and practice growth.
  • You'll have the platform and support to build on an existing client base while developing your own relationships and market presence.
  • Working alongside colleagues across the firm, you'll play an important role in strengthening the Banking & Finance offering and identifying opportunities to grow the wider corporate and commercial practice.
  • You'll advise a diverse range of lenders, borrowers, investors and businesses on a broad spectrum of financing matters.
  • Advising banks, alternative lenders, businesses, investors and other funders on a range of financing arrangements.
  • Developing new business opportunities and strengthening relationships with existing referrers and professional contacts.
  • Playing an active role in mentoring and developing more junior lawyers.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • We're looking for an experienced Banking & Finance lawyer with strong technical credentials and a genuine appetite for business development.
  • Experience acting for lenders, borrowers or both, with the ability to manage sophisticated matters independently.
  • A strong understanding of the commercial drivers behind financing transactions.
  • A proven ability to generate work and build long-term client relationships.
  • The confidence and credibility to operate at Partner level, or the ambition to step into Partnership.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • A collaborative approach to working with colleagues and developing junior lawyers.
  • A commercial, entrepreneurial mindset and enthusiasm for growing a Birmingham-based practice.
