We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Assembly Fitter based in Bedford for one of our clients on a Full time permanent basis.

Hours: 37.5 hours Monday - Thursday 8.15am-4.45pm and Friday 8.15am-1.45pm - Overtime also available
Responsibilities of the Mechanical Assembly Fitter
- Assemble various mechanical and electrical components working from engineering drawings.
- Carry out stripping/preparation/termination of various diameters of electrical cable and continuity testing.
- Record and complete dimensional and quality/test check paperwork.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks.
- Loading/unloading of vehicles as required.
Requirements for a successful Mechanical Assembly Fitter
- Several years of experience working in a similar mechanical fitting/assembly environment.
- Experience working in a medium to heavy mechanical engineering operation.
- Experience in completion of manufacturing and check list paperwork.
- Working to production deadlines and assigned operation hours.
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
- A keen eye for detail with the ability to think on your feet to resolve issues as they arise.
- Qualified overhead crane user and qualified forklift user.
