Job Role of the Maintenance Team Leader:
As a Maintenance Team Leader, you will lead the engineering team within a fast-paced logistics and distribution environment, ensuring that all machinery and equipment operate efficiently and safely. You will coordinate planned and reactive maintenance across a variety of automated systems, conveyors and material handling equipment.
You will be responsible for allocating engineering workloads, supporting engineers with complex breakdowns, managing maintenance schedules and ensuring that all engineering activity is accurately recorded through the Maximo CMMS system. You will play a key role in driving engineering standards, reducing downtime and ensuring planned maintenance is completed effectively.
The Maintenance Team Leader will remain hands-on when required, supporting the engineering team with electrical and mechanical fault finding while also managing day-to-day engineering priorities.

Non-Negotiable Requirements for the Maintenance Team Leader:
- Previous experience working with Maximo CMMS is essential
- Previous experience leading or supervising an engineering/maintenance team
- Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
- Experience working within a fast-paced automated environment
- Engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent
Requirements for the Maintenance Team Leader:
- Confident allocating workloads and managing engineering priorities
- Strong fault-finding and breakdown experience
- Experience working with automated machinery, conveyors and material handling systems
- Ability to manage PPM schedules through Maximo
- Strong understanding of engineering health and safety procedures
- Comfortable remaining hands-on and supporting engineers during complex breakdowns
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Desirable Requirements for the Maintenance Team Leader:
- Previous experience within logistics, distribution or automated warehousing
- PLC fault-finding experience
- Experience driving engineering improvements and reducing downtime
- Previous experience managing engineering KPIs and maintenance performance
