An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced QHSE Systems Manager to join a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation operating across the UK & Ireland.

Reporting directly to the Director of QHSE, this is a strategic role responsible for leading and continuously improving the organisation's Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards across a multi-site operation. This position offers a high level of autonomy and visibility, working closely with senior leadership teams to drive operational excellence, compliance, governance and continuous improvement across the business.

The Role

As QHSE Systems Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining business systems, policies and procedures that support quality, health & safety and environmental performance across the organisation. You will act as a key advisor to senior stakeholders, leading audit activity, supporting compliance initiatives and driving improvements that enhance business performance and operational consistency.

  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS)
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Manage internal and external audit programmes across multiple UK & Ireland locations
  • Conduct management system reviews and support senior leadership teams with compliance and performance initiatives
  • Drive process improvement, process mapping and operational governance across the organisation
  • Support migration to updated ISO standards and evolving regulatory requirements
  • Lead the development of internal business systems and information management tools, including SharePoint-based processes
  • Provide guidance on contractor compliance, procurement governance and external accreditation requirements
  • Support customer-facing audits and compliance activities where required
  • Contribute to incident investigation processes, root cause analysis, business continuity planning and crisis management readiness
  • Monitor departmental budgets and support strategic planning activities

About You

We are looking for a collaborative and commercially aware QHSE professional with strong systems capability and experience operating within engineering, manufacturing, industrial or service-led environments.

Essential

  • Proven experience managing Integrated Management Systems (IMS)
  • Strong audit experience across ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, industrial or process-driven environment
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence and build relationships across all organisational levels, including matrix structures
  • Willingness to travel across the UK & Ireland (typically 1 day per week, increasing during audit periods)

Desirable

  • Formal Lead Auditor qualification
  • Strong knowledge of current and emerging QHSE legislation
  • Advanced Microsoft Office and SharePoint experience
  • Experience supporting multi-site operational businesses
