Associate Flood Risk Consultant - Basingstoke £60,000 - £70,000

A growing specialist consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate Flood Risk Consultant to join their team in Basingstoke.

This is a good opportunity for an experienced flood risk professional looking to take on greater responsibility across technical delivery, client management and project leadership.

The Role

  • Lead and manage flood risk and drainage projects from inception through to completion.
  • Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.
  • Undertake and review hydraulic modelling and flood risk assessments.
  • Provide technical advice to clients, developers, planners and other stakeholders.
  • Liaise with the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities and other regulatory bodies.
  • Manage project budgets, programmes and client requirements.
  • Review technical work and provide guidance to junior members of the team.
  • Support business development, fee proposals and client relationships.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the flood risk team.

The Candidate

  • Strong experience within flood risk consultancy.
  • Experience producing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies.
  • Good understanding of planning requirements and flood risk policy.
  • Experience with hydraulic modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW or Info Works ICM would be advantageous.
  • Confident dealing with clients and regulatory authorities.
  • Previous experience mentoring or managing junior staff.
  • Relevant degree in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
