We're partnering with a leading engineering organisation that develops advanced electronic systems for the defence and maritime sectors.
Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint an Electronics Team Lead to provide technical leadership across the full product lifecycle while mentoring a talented team of engineers.
This is an exciting opportunity to remain hands-on with electronics design while playing a key role in shaping future technologies and developing engineering capability within a collaborative, innovative environment.
The Role
As the Electronics Team Lead, you'll lead the design and development of electrical and electronic systems, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
You'll provide technical expertise across analogue and digital electronics, PCB design and electro-mechanical systems, while working closely with Mechanical, Systems, Software and Manufacturing teams to deliver complex engineering solutions.
Alongside your technical responsibilities, you'll mentor engineers, manage team resources and support the continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical and electronic design across the full product lifecycle.
- Provide technical expertise in analogue and digital circuit design, PCB layout (Altium) and electro-mechanical systems.
- Mentor, coach and develop a team of Electronics Engineers through technical guidance and design reviews.
- Manage team resources, support recruitment and contribute to engineering capability development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and customers to ensure designs meet technical and compliance requirements.
- Support verification and validation activities, configuration management and industry standards.
- Contribute to bids, proposals and engineering estimates.
- Drive continuous improvement and promote engineering best practice.
About You
- Strong experience in analogue and digital electronic design.
- PCB design experience using Altium Designer.
- Previous experience leading, mentoring or managing engineers.
- A good understanding of verification & validation (V&V), configuration management and IPC standards.
- Experience within defence, aerospace, maritime or another highly regulated engineering environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
