Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a turnkey engineering business to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Project Manager with experience delivering complex engineering projects to take ownership of multiple high-value programmes from initial handover through to final completion.

You'll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards, acting as the key point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.

This role would suit someone with a background in EC&I, Mechanical & Electrical or wider engineering project delivery who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the successful delivery of multiple engineering projects, including large-scale and technically complex programmes.
  • Take full responsibility for project performance, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, budget, programme and contractual requirements.
  • Develop and manage Project Execution Plans, project schedules and delivery programmes.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors, acting as the primary commercial and technical interface.
  • Lead regular project review meetings and provide accurate progress reporting to both clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Manage contract administration, including Early Warnings, Technical Queries and Compensation Events where applicable.
  • Coordinate site mobilisation and installation activities, attending customer sites as required.
  • Oversee document control, ensuring all project documentation is submitted and closed out within agreed timescales.
  • Manage subcontractor performance, ensuring quality, safety, programme and commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and identifying opportunities to improve project delivery.
  • Support tendering and pre-contract activities where required.
  • Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear communication of objectives and deliverables.
  • Champion health, safety and quality throughout every phase of project delivery.

About You

We're keen to speak with Project Managers who can demonstrate

  • Proven experience delivering complex engineering projects within a heavy machinery or mechanical handling environment
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and contractual obligations.
  • Previous experience working with standard forms of contract such as NEC and/or MF1.
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership, planning and organisational skills.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and subcontractors.
  • A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM or equivalent.
  • Ideally 10+ years' experience managing engineering projects.
  • Background within EC&I, M&E or industrial engineering projects would be highly advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK and occasionally overseas.
