A well-established law firm in Barnsley is looking to recruit an experienced Family Legal Secretary to join its busy Family Law team.
This is a great opportunity for a Legal Secretary, Family Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant with previous experience in Family Law who is looking to join a supportive and established team.
The Role
Working alongside experienced Family Solicitors, you will provide day to day secretarial and administrative support across a varied Family Law caseload.
Your responsibilities will include
- Providing legal secretarial support to Family Solicitors.
- Preparing and formatting legal correspondence and documentation.
- Typing letters, statements, applications and other legal documents.
- Managing diaries, appointments and deadlines.
- Opening and maintaining client files.
- Liaising with Clients, Solicitors, Barristers, courts and other third parties.
- Handling incoming calls and emails and dealing with client queries professionally.
- Assisting with the administration of Family Law matters, including divorce, financial matters and private children work.
- Supporting Solicitors with general administrative tasks and case management.
About You
The ideal candidate will have
- Previous experience working as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant within Family Law.
- Good knowledge of Family Law terminology and procedures.
- Strong typing, administration and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage deadlines and prioritise a busy workload.
- A professional and client focused approach.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience within a Family Law department is preferred, although candidates with strong legal secretarial experience and an interest in Family Law will also be considered.
