Our client is seeking an experienced Quarry Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of quarries in Anglesey.
This role is responsible for overseeing extraction and production activities, ensuring high-quality aggregate output, and maintaining full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day quarry operations, including drilling, blasting, crushing, and material handling.
- Monitor production levels and implement improvements to maximise efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation, industry standards, and the Quarries Regulations 1999.
- Promote a strong safety culture and a zero-harm approach across all employees and contractors.
- Maintain product quality standards through regular testing and quality control processes.
- Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and repair of quarry plant and equipment.
- Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate records of materials produced and dispatched.
- Assist with budget preparation, cost control, and identifying operational efficiencies.
- Lead, develop, and supervise quarry personnel, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar management role within the quarrying, aggregates, or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of aggregate processing, extraction operations, and earthworks.
Education
- Degree or diploma in a relevant discipline.
- Proof of competence for a Regulation 8 appointment.
Certifications
- SHE NVQ Level 6 (or higher).
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
Skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- Strong organisational and project management abilities.
- Sound technical understanding of quarry operations, equipment, and systems.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
