The opportunity

Are you a commercially minded finance leader who thrives on turning complex operational data into boardroom strategy?

A high-growth, innovative manufacturing business is seeking a sharp, ambitious Head of Financial Planning & Analysis to act as a key commercial partner to the Finance Director and Executive Leadership team.

If you are looking for a role that goes far beyond routine month-end reporting—where you can build predictive models, evaluate major capital investments, and directly influence commercial performance—this is it.

What you will do

  • Drive Commercial Strategy: Partner directly with Executive leads and department heads to shape the company's medium-to-long-term strategic financial plans.
  • Build High-Impact Models: Create, refine, and own fully integrated financial models, rolling forecasts, and scenario analyses to guide decision-making across product lines.
  • Evaluate Investments: Lead financial appraisals for new business cases, capital expenditure, and growth initiatives.
  • Transform Performance Reporting: Move beyond standard actuals vs. budget variance analysis to deliver forward-looking commercial insights and robust operational KPIs.
  • Bridge Operations & Finance: Work hands-on with non-finance teams to challenge assumptions, streamline budgeting, and maximize gross margin visibility
  • What we are looking for
  • Qualified Finance Leader: Fully qualified accountant (FCCA / CIMA / ACA) with a proven track record in manufacturing, engineering, or complex operational environments.
  • Exceptional Modeller: Advanced financial modelling capability with a deep passion for data-driven storytelling and forecasting accuracy.
  • Commercial Mindset: Demonstrated experience evaluating business cases, product line profitability, and working capital dynamics.
  • Strong Influencer: A natural communicator who can build immediate credibility with operational managers and present seamlessly at Board level.

This is a high-visibility leadership position within a business operating at the forefront of its sector.

You will have full autonomy to shape the FP&A function, modernise reporting frameworks, and play a pivotal role in the company's growth trajectory.
