If you know your way around a machine shop, can talk CNC with engineers and production managers, and know how to turn a technical conversation into a commercial opportunity, this could be worth a look.

We're recruiting an Area Sales Manager to cover the North Midlands and North West for an established supplier of CNC machine tools and manufacturing technology. This isn't simply about driving around a territory dropping off brochures. You'll be developing relationships with manufacturers, understanding what they are trying to achieve on the shop floor and working with them to identify the right machine tool and technology solutions.

You'll be representing established, industry-leading brands and will have the backing of an experienced technical and service team, so when you uncover an opportunity, you have the support around you to develop it properly. The territory includes both existing customers and the opportunity to develop new business, so we're looking for someone comfortable doing both.

You'll probably already have experience within:

  • CNC machine tools
  • Cutting tools
  • Manufacturing technology
  • Technical engineering sales

More importantly, you'll understand manufacturing. You'll be comfortable walking into an engineering business, talking to people from the shop floor through to senior management, understanding their production challenges and building relationships that develop into long-term business.

You'll need to be commercially aware, self-motivated and capable of managing a geographical sales territory without someone constantly looking over your shoulder. Ideally, you'll be based within the North Midlands or North West, although if you live just outside the territory and can realistically cover it, we're happy to have the conversation.

If you're already selling into UK manufacturing and you're looking for an opportunity to represent high-quality CNC machine tool technology with an experienced team behind you, get in touch.
