Your new company
A well-established construction, property investment and management business with a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential property interests, farming operations and joint venture lending activities.

With multiple group companies and a long-standing reputation in the market, the business is entering an exciting period of transition as a key member of the finance team prepares for retirement after more than 20 years of service.

This role offers a unique opportunity to join a stable and successful organisation and develop into a broader finance position, with the potential to take on additional responsibilities currently undertaken by senior members of the business.

Your new role
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day finance operations across multiple group entities.

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced finance professional who is comfortable managing transactional finance whilst also producing management information and supporting business decision-making.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Managing the sales ledger, invoicing and credit control processes
  • Collecting commercial and residential rental income
  • Bank reconciliations and cash management
  • Producing reports including WIP and cost centre reporting
  • Processing financial transactions across multiple group companies
  • Supporting month-end activities and management reporting
  • Maintaining accurate financial records using VT Transactions and Lloyds Link
  • Liaising with tenants, suppliers and external stakeholders
  • Assisting the Finance Director with ad hoc financial analysis and business projects
  • Gradually taking on additional responsibilities as the role develops
  • What you'll need to succeed
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred, although strong AAT-qualified candidates will also be considered
  • Previous experience within a hands-on finance role, ideally in an SME environment
  • Strong understanding of transactional finance, reconciliations and reporting
  • Experience managing multiple entities or group company structures
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and build strong relationships across the business
  • Property, real estate, construction, farming or investment sector experience would be advantageous but is not essential
  • What you'll get in return
  • Salary of £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
  • Opportunity to work closely with an experienced Finance Director
  • Broad and varied role with genuine scope for progression
  • Exposure to property investment, management and lending activities
  • Stable and well-established business with long-term growth plans
  • Supportive and flexible working environment
