Project Accountant - Qualified
Location: Altrincham
Salary: £54,000 - £60,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with experience in a project-based environment who enjoys combining technical finance, commercial insight and stakeholder management.
The business has experienced significant growth and works with an impressive portfolio of clients, delivering complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the monthly project invoicing and revenue billing cycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual terms.
- Review project timesheets, rate cards and contracts to ensure all billable activity is captured correctly.
- Work closely with Project and Engagement Leads to review project performance, budgets and forecasts.
- Produce and review budget packs, identifying over/underspend, risks and commercial opportunities.
- Facilitate monthly commercial review meetings with key stakeholders.
- Provide financial insight into project profitability, utilisation and revenue optimisation.
- Review project lifecycles and identify opportunities to maximise revenue from existing client contracts.
- Maintain accurate project, contract and commercial information within internal systems.
- Support business planning and provide assurance over revenue forecasts and the wider business pipeline.
- Take ownership of invoices and deliverables within strict client SLAs.
- Support year-end and audit requirements relating to project revenue and invoicing.
- Build strong relationships across Finance, Operations, Delivery and Project teams.
- Develop into a key Finance representative in client meetings, providing commercial insight and supporting decision-making.
- Support and provide guidance to less experienced members of the wider finance team.
- Key Skills
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA fully qualified - newly qualified candidates will also be considered.
- Previous experience within a Project Accountant or similar project-based finance role.
- Experience of project billing models involving staff/labour timesheets, time and materials, fixed-price services and/or licensing.
- Strong experience reviewing contracts, rate cards, project budgets and revenue.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Confident using your own initiative, and taking ownership of your work.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to identify risks and opportunities.
