We are not offering Sponsorship or Visa. Our client operates a purpose-built Nursing Home in a residential setting in Airdrie, and is looking for a full-time Registered Nurse to cover days. Full training is provided, along with paid breaks, uniform, and 5.6 weeks of annual leave entitlement including bank holidays.

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Home Manager

QUALIFICATIONS: RN with experience in caring for the relevant service user group

JOB PURPOSE: To ensure the efficient running of the home during the time he/she is the Senior on duty, and to contribute to maintaining an environment reflective of the home's philosophy of care — one that encourages resident involvement in their own care.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the assessment of service users' care needs, and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, are undertaken and fully documented.
  • As required, take charge of the home in the absence of the person with continuing responsibility.
  • As required, undertake on-call duties.
  • Ensure an appropriate exchange of information between all grades of staff to promote continuity of service user care.
  • Maintain full and complete nursing records.
  • Ensure the safe administration of drugs in accordance with NMC and home policy, reporting to the Senior Nurse as necessary.
  • Monitor the use of all resources to promote effective and efficient use appropriate to service users' needs.
  • Liaise with relevant parties to facilitate service user care and wellbeing.
  • Report any shortfalls in the provision of service user care to the person in charge/management.
  • Ensure care practices reflect NMC requirements and are regularly reviewed and developed.
  • Maintain personal contact with residents through one-to-one contact and group activities.
  • Ensure all visiting professionals are recorded.
  • Attend mandatory and in-house training as required.
  • Understand and abide by all company policies and procedures.
  • Help ensure the home is compliant with Care Standards Scotland / CQC England.
  • Help promote and market the home.

EDUCATION:

  • Assist with the orientation, induction and ongoing training of staff.
  • Contribute to the continuing development of the home through professional self-development and the promotion of evidence-based practice.

COMMUNICATION:

  • Attend meetings and ensure information is passed on to all staff.
  • Help maintain good communication with all professionals and others involved in client care and home management.
  • Provide professional support to all grades of staff in the home.

NIGHT DUTY: This is a wakeful duty unless otherwise notified.
