I'm working exclusively with a successful and growing organisation that is looking to appoint a talented Management Accountant on an initial 12-month fixed term contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys combining technical accounting, commercial analysis, and process improvement.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, providing insight to stakeholders, and supporting the wider business during an exciting period.
You'll have exposure across the full finance cycle, working closely with senior stakeholders and gaining the opportunity to make a real impact within a collaborative and high-performing finance team.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing accurate and insightful monthly management accounts and supporting analysis.
- Managing month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Producing financial reporting and commentary to enable stakeholders to make informed business decisions.
- Supporting the preparation of statutory reporting requirements, including year-end accounts, VAT, corporation tax, and other regulatory submissions.
- Acting as a key point of contact for external auditors and professional advisors.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Analysing financial performance and providing meaningful commentary on key business drivers.
- Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting systems.
- Supporting improvements to finance processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.
- Maintaining key data sources that support commercial reporting and business intelligence.
- Providing support and guidance to junior members of the finance team where required.
About you
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or finalist with strong relevant experience.
- Previous experience preparing management accounts within a fast-paced finance environment.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and working with complex datasets.
- Commercially curious with the ability to interpret financial information and communicate insights effectively.
- Comfortable managing deadlines, prioritising workload, and delivering accurate reporting under time pressure.
- Experience with ERP systems and improving finance processes would be advantageous.
- Exposure to Power BI, Power Query, or reporting tools would be beneficial.
