Are you a relationship and growth-focused Commercial Account Executive looking for the opportunity to inherit a quality portfolio and build long-term client partnerships? We are working with a forward-thinking, highly well-known UK independent insurance broker that combines the personal approach of a local business with the resources, expertise and market access of a larger group. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation that values its people, encourages new ideas and puts client relationships at the heart of everything it does.

Why Join?

  • Inherit an established portfolio generating approximately £400,000 income
  • A role focused on 80% servicing and 20% growth, allowing you to focus on relationships rather than cold calling
  • Dedicated support from an experienced Account Handler team
  • Flexible location options: Croydon, East Grinstead or Godalming
  • Access to specialist expertise and strong insurer relationships
  • A collaborative culture where you can make an impact and be part of the business's continued growth

The Role

You will manage and develop a predominantly Construction-led commercial portfolio, with additional clients across Manufacturing, Waste & Recycling and Professions. The business has a strong appetite for non-standard and mid-market risks, typically from £20,000 GWP upwards. Growth will come through existing client relationships, referrals and networking rather than cold calling.

About You

You will be a commercially minded Account Executive who enjoys building trusted relationships and delivering excellent client service. Ideally, you will have:

  • Around five years' commercial insurance experience as an Account Executive or a combination of Account Handler and Account Executive experience
  • Experience managing commercial clients and presenting risks to insurers
  • A positive, proactive and results-driven approach
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Construction experience would be highly advantageous, although candidates from Professional Indemnity or other complex commercial backgrounds will also be considered.

If you're looking for a role where you can inherit a strong portfolio, work with quality clients and join a business with ambitious plans for the future, we'd love to hear from you.
