An experienced Plumber / Multi-skilled Trader is required to join a well-established property and construction company based in Birmingham. With over 80 years of family-run history, this company specialises in housing, construction, investment, and lettings across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.
This privately owned property business manages a portfolio of mainly studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments across Birmingham City Centre and the surrounding regions, including Redditch, Wolverhampton, Swadlincote, and Burton. The properties include private tenanted apartments, houses, and blocks with communal areas and grounds. The company prides itself on offering long-term housing and exceptional maintenance standards. Due to the nature of the work, DBS checks are required.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out advanced plumbing and general maintenance tasks
- Identify and fix leaks or damage following water-related issues
- Install bathrooms and sanitary ware
- Source, manage, and install plumbing parts
- Work with enclosed toilet cisterns and hot water systems
- Relay heating-related issues to gas engineers when necessary
- Address simple drainage issues (with support from subcontractors as needed)
- Produce job reports and photo/video updates via a mobile system
- Attend daily call-outs and property maintenance tasks in the field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a property maintenance environment
- Proven plumbing experience in rental accommodation
- Understanding of hot water and heating systems
- Experience communicating issues with contractors or engineers
- Comfortable using a smartphone to access company systems and record reports
- Recognised Plumbing Qualification
- Full UK driving licence is essential
