Our client specialises in designing, installing, operating and maintaining professional lighting and technical systems for entertainment venues, holiday destinations, hotels and theatres. They take pride in delivering reliable, high-quality solutions and in making complex lighting systems easy to understand and operate. They are now looking for a Lighting Technician to support their projects across the UK. The role will involve a mix of installation, maintenance, and operational support, working both independently and as part of a wider technical team.
Key Responsibilities of the Lighting Technician:
- Install, maintain and operate professional lighting systems with travel to client sites as required.
- Supporting lighting installations from planning through testing and client handover.
- Programming and operating lighting control systems where required.
- Assisting with live events and productions when needed.
- Working closely with colleagues and clients to meet technical requirements.
- Completing clear, accurate documentation and handovers.
Skills and Experience required:
- Proven experience working as a Lighting Technician in theatre, entertainment venues, or technical installations.
- Confident with industry-standard lighting equipment and control systems.
- Practical understanding of power distribution, DMX/data networks and fault-finding.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently on solo tasks.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner.
- Flexible, solutions-focused attitude with a commitment to high standards.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred).
Desirable (Not Essential):
- Experience with architectural or installed lighting systems.
- Basic knowledge of sound or AV systems.
- Rigging and working-at-height experience.
- Relevant industry qualifications or training.
