Key Responsibilities of the CNC Machinist:

  • Reading blueprints, process sheets, and sketches to determine machining requirements
  • Setting up and operating multi-axis CNC grinding and milling equipment
  • Selecting tooling, calculating feeds speeds, and machining a variety of metals including steel, copper, brass, aluminium, and bronze
  • Downloading, editing, or writing CNC programs as needed
  • Performing quality inspections using precision instruments and gauging devices
  • Applying lean manufacturing principles to reduce setup times and improve throughput
  • Cleaning, finishing, and preparing components for shipment, including oiling, wrapping, and boxing
  • Ensuring all components meet exacting specifications
