Accountabilities
- Lead and deliver technical work packages across aerospace R&D projects, ensuring objectives are met within scope, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Contribute to or manage budgeting, planning, and risk management activities associated with assigned engineering programmes.
- Support the design, execution, and analysis of experimental and testing activities, including work in specialised laboratory and wind tunnel environments.
- Develop and validate models and simulations of in-flight icing behaviour to support system design and performance assessment.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, test reports, and development plans aligned with project and certification standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design outsourced work packages and ensure successful delivery.
- Support stakeholder engagement, including customers and supply chain partners, while representing project outcomes and technical findings.
- Contribute to technology development strategies and identify pathways toward industrialisation and real-world application.
Requirements
- HNC, degree, or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in electro-mechanical systems, sensing systems, or controller systems within an engineering environment.
- Hands-on experience in PCB design and general electronics engineering.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, with exposure to aerodynamics and physics-based thermodynamic modelling.
- Experience designing and executing laboratory or experimental testing in controlled environments.
- Ability to analyse complex systems and apply structured, logical, and methodical problem-solving approaches.
- Demonstrated capability in coordinating technical work and leading activities without direct line management authority.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with aerospace certification processes, systems development lifecycle, and project delivery frameworks is desirable.
- Higher academic qualification (MSc, PhD, or EngD) and experience in aerospace or consulting environments are advantageous.
