We are currently looking for a Senior Platform Engineer in the United Kingdom. In this role, you will take ownership of a high-scale platform that powers billions of requests each month, enabling businesses to access and leverage web data efficiently. You will play a key role in shaping infrastructure strategy, driving architectural improvements, and ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across systems. Working in a fully remote, fast-paced environment, you’ll collaborate with a small but highly skilled engineering team while enjoying a high degree of autonomy. This position goes beyond maintenance—you’ll define the roadmap, lead major infrastructure initiatives, and influence how modern tools, including AI, are integrated into engineering workflows. Accountabilities:
- Own and drive the platform roadmap, identifying priorities and leading infrastructure improvements
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure systems
- Lead the consolidation of multiple infrastructure stacks into a unified, efficient platform
- Optimize infrastructure costs while maintaining high performance and system reliability
- Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and disaster recovery strategies
- Strengthen platform security to protect against evolving threats and vulnerabilities
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to improve development workflows and tooling
- Support the adoption of AI tools and processes to enhance engineering productivity and outcomes
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles at scale
- Strong expertise in Kubernetes and containerized environments for large-scale systems
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in modern development environments
- Solid knowledge of observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK, Datadog, or similar)
- Experience working with cloud providers or hosting platforms and distributed database systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently drive technical initiatives
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in remote, async-first teams
- Practical experience leveraging AI tools to deliver measurable engineering impact
- Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus
