This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer in EMEA and APAC.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a central role in designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems that are robust, scalable, and secure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and designers, to deliver high-quality software solutions that power complex multi-chain DeFi operations. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge blockchain technology, optimize system performance, and implement best practices for backend architecture. You will mentor junior engineers, influence technical direction, and contribute to creating reliable, production-grade APIs. The position is fully remote, providing flexibility while working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Accountabilities

  • Leading the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems and APIs.
  • Architecting scalable and robust backend solutions to meet evolving business needs and handle high user loads.
  • Maintaining high coding standards, conducting code reviews, and ensuring best practices for maintainability and readability.
  • Identifying bottlenecks and optimizing algorithms and code for peak system performance.
  • Implementing monitoring and debugging tools to proactively ensure high system availability.
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive test suites, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Mentoring and providing guidance to junior engineers to foster their growth and technical expertise.
  • Documenting code, APIs, and technical processes to support knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.

Requirements

  • Strong professional experience as a backend engineer, preferably in senior or lead roles.
  • Deep expertise in TypeScript and Node.js development.
  • Solid understanding of blockchain technologies, particularly EVM or similar ecosystems.
  • Experience with document databases (e.g., MongoDB) and caching solutions (e.g., Redis).
  • Knowledge of software design, architecture, and scalable production-grade systems.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and principles for backend applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to write maintainable, scalable, and high-performance code.
  • Proactivity, self-guidance, and strong collaboration skills in distributed teams.
  • Bachelor\\\'s or Master\\\'s degree in Computer Science or related field is a plus.
