Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs supporting core platform functionalities.
- Own the implementation and delivery of new features, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Manage production systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous optimization.
- Integrate external services and third-party APIs into the platform ecosystem.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and business teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Define and promote engineering best practices, standards, and architectural guidelines.
- Document technical solutions clearly through diagrams, code comments, and supporting materials.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to onboarding and knowledge sharing initiatives.
- Occasionally support frontend-related tasks to ensure seamless feature delivery.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience designing and building scalable backend systems in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Go and solid understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architecture.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational database design (e.g., PostgreSQL).
- Familiarity with modern backend technologies such as gRPC, Redis, or message queues.
- Basic understanding of frontend technologies and ability to contribute when needed.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and containerized environments like Kubernetes.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in remote, cross-functional teams.
- Curiosity for new technologies, including AI-powered development tools, and a willingness to experiment.
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience is a plus.
- Based in Europe (including the UK) with valid work authorization.
