This role sits at the intersection of strategic program leadership and complex mining operations across international environments. You will oversee the full lifecycle of multi-disciplinary mining initiatives, from exploration through to operational readiness, ensuring alignment between technical execution, regulatory compliance, and corporate strategy. Accountabilities
- Lead end‑to‑end program management for mining initiatives, ensuring coordination across exploration, feasibility, permitting, construction, and operational readiness workstreams.
- Define program scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation in alignment with corporate strategy.
- Coordinate cross‑functional internal teams and external consultants across technical, environmental, legal, financial, and operational domains.
- Manage relationships with government authorities, regulators, and institutional stakeholders to support permitting, concessions, and policy engagement.
- Drive stakeholder and community engagement initiatives aligned with ESG commitments and social license to operate.
- Monitor program risks, dependencies, and critical paths while implementing mitigation strategies and escalating key issues when necessary.
- Establish governance frameworks, KPIs, and reporting structures, delivering executive‑level updates on program performance.
- Oversee capital expenditure, budgets, vendor performance, and contract management across multiple projects.
- Ensure compliance with mining regulations, HSE standards, and international industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field; postgraduate studies in program/project management or business are an advantage.
- 6+ years of experience in the mining industry, including 3–5+ years managing complex programs or multi‑project portfolios.
- Strong understanding of the full mining lifecycle, including exploration, feasibility, permitting, construction, and operations.
- Proven experience working with government bodies, regulators, and local communities, ideally in Latin America or similar regions.
- Certification in program or project management (PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate in multicultural and cross‑functional environments.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and risk management capabilities in high‑complexity settings.
- Proficiency in program management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent platforms.
- Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, sound judgment, and resilience in high‑pressure, high‑visibility environments.
- Advantageous: experience in Central America, familiarity with ESG frameworks (IFC PS, ICMM), and exposure to public‑sector or multilateral institutions.
