In this role, you will work closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional engineering teams to create reliable backend systems and impactful user-facing features. Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Kotlin or Java-based frameworks such as Micronaut or Spring.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, frontend engineers, mobile developers, and AI-focused teams to deliver high-quality SaaS product features.
- Take ownership of backend architecture, data models, integrations, and infrastructure improvements to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Contribute across the full product lifecycle, from idea validation and rapid prototyping to deployment, rollout, and performance monitoring.
- Support cross-stack initiatives when needed, contributing to frontend, mobile, or infrastructure-related tasks to improve end-to-end product delivery.
- Use AI-powered development tools to accelerate coding, troubleshooting, documentation, experimentation, and feature implementation workflows.
- Participate in technical discussions, architectural decisions, and Agile ceremonies while continuously improving engineering standards and delivery practices.
- Implement monitoring, instrumentation, and experimentation solutions to support product optimization and user experience improvements.
- Contribute to deployment pipelines, cloud infrastructure management, and operational excellence initiatives using modern DevOps practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to better understand user needs, gather feedback, and ensure delivered solutions create measurable product impact.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Kotlin or Java and modern backend frameworks such as Micronaut or Spring within SaaS or cloud-based environments.
- Strong understanding of backend system design, API development, scalable architectures, and distributed application principles.
- Experience working in Agile product development environments with close collaboration across engineering, design, and product teams.
- Willingness to contribute beyond backend development into frontend, mobile, infrastructure, or product-focused tasks when required.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code, or similar productivity-enhancing development platforms.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to independently drive features from concept through deployment and iteration.
- Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills with a strong focus on user impact and product quality.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, messaging systems such as RabbitMQ or Apache Kafka, and cloud-native architectures is highly valued.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, observability tools, A/B testing, Grafana, or Mixpanel is considered a plus.
- Experience collaborating directly with designers or working from prototypes and mockups is appreciated.
- Fluent English communication skills and the ability to work effectively within distributed international teams.
