This role is focused on designing and delivering scalable, high-quality Pega Platform solutions within complex enterprise environments. You will act as a senior technical expert responsible for translating business requirements into robust system designs aligned with Pega best practices and architectural guardrails. The position involves hands-on development, integration work, and solution optimization across case management, workflows, and decisioning logic. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile setup, contributing to both technical delivery and architectural direction. The environment is fast-paced and delivery-driven, requiring strong ownership of complex components and a focus on maintainability and performance. You will also play a mentoring role, supporting junior engineers and helping elevate overall engineering standards.
Accountabilities
- Design, configure, and deliver scalable Pega Platform solutions using App Studio and Dev Studio, including case management, workflows, UI components, and decisioning logic.
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs aligned with enterprise architecture standards and Pega guardrails.
- Apply best practices in system architecture, including class hierarchy, rule resolution, and modular design to ensure scalability and reusability.
- Build and manage integrations with external systems using REST and SOAP APIs, including data models, connectors, and authentication mechanisms.
- Implement security frameworks using RBAC and ABAC models while ensuring compliance with data protection requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues using Pega diagnostic tools such as Tracer, PDC, and system logs, optimizing performance and stability.
- Contribute to DevOps processes including CI/CD pipelines, branching strategies, and deployments using Pega Deployment Manager.
- Provide technical leadership for specific workstreams, ensuring high-quality delivery and mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing on the Pega Platform in Agile environments (5+ years preferred).
- Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) certification is required.
- Strong experience with case management, workflow design, and UI configuration using Pega Constellation or Cosmos.
- Solid expertise in integrations using REST, SOAP, JSON, and working with complex data models.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and practical Java development experience.
- Good knowledge of SQL and database concepts for enterprise applications.
- Experience with performance tuning, debugging, and system troubleshooting using Pega tools.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong English proficiency (upper-intermediate or higher, written and spoken).
