This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced cloud infrastructure professional passionate about building scalable, secure, and high-performing platforms in a fully remote environment. The role focuses on leading a high-impact cloud engineering team responsible for supporting large-scale SaaS infrastructure handling billions of annual requests. You will play a strategic role in shaping cloud architecture, driving operational excellence, and optimizing infrastructure costs while partnering closely with engineering, product, and finance stakeholders. The position combines hands-on technical leadership with organizational influence, making it ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, cloud-native ecosystems. You will help define infrastructure best practices, strengthen automation and observability, and foster a culture centered on scalability, reliability, and ownership. Accountabilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cloud platform engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
  • Oversee the scalability, reliability, performance, and security of cloud infrastructure supporting high-volume SaaS operations.
  • Manage and optimize AWS-based environments, including EKS/Kubernetes clusters, networking, storage, and cloud-native services.
  • Drive operational excellence by improving CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, observability systems, and infrastructure automation processes.
  • Partner closely with finance and leadership teams to manage cloud spending, improve cost visibility, and implement effective FinOps strategies.
  • Define and enforce infrastructure governance standards related to security, scalability, deployment processes, and platform reliability across engineering teams.
  • Act as a technical advisor on cloud architecture decisions and support product teams in building scalable infrastructure solutions by default.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks, propose architectural improvements, and lead strategic infrastructure initiatives from conception through execution.
  • Communicate complex technical tradeoffs and infrastructure strategies clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support security and compliance initiatives through modern cloud security practices, access controls, and infrastructure governance frameworks.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in technology roles, including at least 5 years managing engineering or cloud infrastructure teams in cloud-native environments.
  • Deep expertise within the AWS ecosystem, including EKS/Kubernetes, IAM, VPC, RDS, and scalable cloud infrastructure architecture.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and modern DevOps workflows.
  • Advanced knowledge of GitOps methodologies, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud automation best practices.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale cloud infrastructure budgets and implementing successful cloud cost optimization initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of scalability, reliability engineering, observability, and operational performance optimization.
  • Ability to independently lead complex infrastructure initiatives with minimal oversight in fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud security principles, SOC 2 compliance, zero-trust architectures, and network security best practices.
  • Experience with Cloudflare technologies, including WAF, CDN, or edge infrastructure services, is considered a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
