We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Clearing in the United Kingdom. In this role, you will work at the core of post-trade systems, building and scaling the infrastructure that ensures financial transactions are processed accurately and reliably. You’ll contribute to mission‑critical backend services that power clearing, settlement, and securities finance operations in a fast‑evolving financial ecosystem. Accountabilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust backend systems supporting clearing, settlement, and financial operations.
- Own projects end‑to‑end, from ideation and design through to deployment and continuous improvement.
- Develop new infrastructure and services to enable additional financial products and integrations.
- Continuously refine and optimize existing systems to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Participate in on‑call rotations, ensuring system stability and rapid incident resolution.
- Contribute to engineering best practices, documentation, and knowledge sharing across the team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building reliable, distributed backend systems in production environments.
- Strong programming skills in Go and solid experience with PostgreSQL and Kubernetes.
- Deep understanding of system design, distributed systems, databases, and internet architecture.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs with a focus on scalability and maintainability.
- Ability to take full ownership of projects and operate effectively in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments.
- Strong problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail and a high sense of responsibility.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a globally distributed team.
- Interest in financial systems, trading infrastructure, or market operations.
