Accountabilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and optimize database systems primarily focused on MS SQL Server environments supporting business‑critical applications.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with development teams to improve query efficiency and overall system performance.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly test backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Manage database security, access controls, and compliance with established operational standards and best practices.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to database architecture, policies, procedures, and operational processes.
  • Provide technical leadership for database deployments, upgrades, migrations, and strategic infrastructure initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database‑related incidents, performance issues, and system outages independently or collaboratively with other technical teams.
  • Lead and support database‑related projects from planning through implementation and completion.
  • Participate in 24/7 on‑call rotations to ensure high availability, security, and operational reliability of production systems.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives focused on automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of database administration experience with strong expertise in MS SQL Server 2016–2022 environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB administration and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Experience with Azure PaaS SQL offerings and cloud‑based database management solutions.
  • Solid understanding of SQL Server High Availability technologies, including replication, log shipping, and failover configurations.
  • Experience managing large‑scale database environments and implementing automation processes.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and/or Python scripting for automation and operational tasks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly within high‑pressure or fast‑moving environments.
  • Familiarity with Linux server administration and Windows Server environments is considered an advantage.
  • Previous experience supporting SaaS or high‑volume mission‑critical applications is highly valued.
