Accountabilities:
- Lead and scale the design function by managing daily operations, coordinating team workflows, and optimizing processes for handling inbound requests and project prioritization.
- Define project scopes, allocate resources effectively, and align team bandwidth with evolving business goals and timelines.
- Represent the design team across the organization, setting expectations, communicating trade-offs, and ensuring transparency around priorities and constraints.
- Drive hiring efforts, participate in interviews, and contribute to long-term team structure and resourcing strategies.
- Manage relationships with external agencies, contractors, and vendors to ensure consistent quality and delivery standards.
- Contribute directly to hands-on design execution, producing high-quality product, marketing, and web deliverables.
- Maintain and systematize Figma files, shared libraries, and design assets to ensure scalability, accessibility, and collaborative efficiency.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in product, digital, or brand design, with demonstrated leadership or team management experience.
- Proven ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on creative execution in dynamic environments.
- Strong operational mindset with experience building or improving design workflows and bandwidth planning.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including organizing libraries, maintaining structured systems, and enabling team collaboration.
- Strong visual design fundamentals, including typography, color theory, composition, spacing, and layout.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, and leadership stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills with confidence presenting design rationale and navigating ambiguity.
- Structured, systems-oriented thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience scaling design teams, building design systems, or working with agencies is a plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and experience aligning product and brand systems across touchpoints (nice to have).
