We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead the financial management function and provide executive-level insights to support business growth. This role oversees all aspects of accounting, reporting, and financial analysis, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability across operations. You will work closely with leadership to drive budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning, while also implementing process improvements and optimizing systems. The position requires a hands-on approach, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to mentor and develop a finance team. Accountabilities
- Oversee all financial operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll management.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and present comprehensive financial statements, management reports, and executive-level analyses.
- Develop and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and data integrity.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and strategic financial planning initiatives.
- Drive system integrations, ERP optimization, and process improvement initiatives for efficiency and scalability.
- Manage compliance and risk by overseeing audits, tax reporting, internal controls, and financial risk mitigation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members while collaborating cross-functionally with operations, sales, and other departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
- Master’s degree or MBA in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline is a plus.
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 3–5 years in a Controller or senior finance role.
- Experience in e-commerce, retail, or inventory-based businesses preferred; public accounting experience is a plus.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Google Sheets, financial modeling, ERP systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP), and reporting tools.
- Deep understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, and US tax regulations.
- Proven track record in month-end and year-end close processes, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills; able to present financial insights to executives effectively.
- Ability to work remotely, align with US Central Time business hours, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
