We are looking for a Legal Specialist in the United Kingdom to join a fast‑growing fintech environment. In this role you will provide strategic and operational legal support across multiple jurisdictions, including Europe, the UK, Turkey, and the Middle East. You will work closely with compliance and legal leadership to ensure contracts, products, and processes meet regulatory requirements while enabling business growth. The position emphasizes risk mitigation, cross‑functional collaboration, and proactive legal guidance in a high‑paced, innovative environment. You will shape compliance frameworks covering payments, AML/CFT, anti‑bribery, data protection, and other fintech regulations, directly impacting global operations and driving the company’s expansion while ensuring adherence to legal standards.
Accountabilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, promotional materials, and product documentation to ensure compliance with global fintech regulations.
- Provide legal guidance throughout the product lifecycle, assessing risks and supporting decision‑making.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Product, Finance, and People teams to align on legal and compliance initiatives.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes in payments, fintech, and data protection laws.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and flexible legal processes to support global growth.
- Lead cross‑functional initiatives and provide actionable advice to resolve issues, close deals, and establish partnerships.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as a qualified attorney with expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, and corporate risk management.
- Strong knowledge of the global fintech and payments industry.
- Fluent in English; advanced Spanish is a plus.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across multicultural teams.
- Strong judgment and problem‑solving skills, capable of making informed decisions in ambiguous situations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience in payment orchestration platforms, payment gateways, or B2B SaaS serving regulated financial institutions is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ISO 37301, ISO 27001/27701, or PCI DSS standards is a plus.
