This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Data & AI Counsel. In this role, you will work closely with the Data & AI compliance team to ensure adherence to global data protection laws while enabling innovative solutions. Your expertise will guide various legal aspects surrounding data privacy and responsible AI, promoting a culture of accountability and trust within our partner's operations. As a pivotal member of the team, you will contribute to operational privacy matters and enhance the compliance service model, ultimately driving impactful change in how data is managed responsibly across sectors.
Accountabilities
- Enable the continuous iteration of key Data Privacy programme components.
- Provide day-to-day legal advice on global data protection laws.
- Support operational privacy matters including DSAR strategy and incident response.
- Evolve the Data & AI Compliance team’s service model for queries and tracking.
- Develop practical processes, guidances, and tooling for user optimization.
- Lead and support Data Privacy and Responsible AI aspects of vendor due diligence.
- Assist commercial teams on privacy and AI-related contracting.
- Track programme metrics and produce leadership-ready reporting.
- Monitor relevant regulatory developments and apply actionable insights.
- Influence collaboration across all sectors to enhance operational practices.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor or barrister with 4+ years post-qualification experience.
- Experience in fast-paced environments, preferably within technology sectors.
- Excellent drafting skills for policies, guidance, and contract positions.
- Organized and delivery-focused with strong process management skills.
- Experience in providing legal and data protection support for tech teams is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex legal issues clearly.
- Responsive, pragmatic, curious, and collaborative approach to relationship building.
