Our partner is looking for a Commercial Fin Ops Lead based in United Kingdom.
This role is designed for a senior professional who can build and own a commercial Fin Ops function from the ground up.
You will take responsibility for cloud and Saa S vendor management, cost visibility, optimization initiatives, and procurement governance.
The position sits at the intersection of finance, engineering, and operations, requiring both analytical depth and strong commercial judgment.

Accountabilities The Commercial Fin Ops Lead will own the commercial and analytical side of vendor management, ensuring that technology investments are optimized and governed effectively.
Key responsibilities include: Managing end-to-end relationships with major cloud and Saa S vendors, including negotiations, renewals, commercial discussions, and strategic partnerships.
Leading procurement governance processes, including competitive bidding, benchmarking, approval frameworks, and oversight of managed procurement partners.
Driving Fin Ops initiatives focused on spend visibility, cost optimization, unit economics, licensing efficiency, and tooling consolidation.
Building and maintaining vendor cost reporting, dashboards, and governance frameworks to improve transparency and accountability.
Partnering with engineering teams to track cloud efficiency initiatives, ensuring savings opportunities are identified, measured, and realized.
Establishing standards, processes, and operating models for the commercial function while maintaining ownership of vendor efficiency programs.
Acting as the key connection point between finance, legal, engineering teams, and external technology providers.
Requirements The ideal candidate combines financial expertise, technical understanding, and commercial leadership skills to operate effectively in a fast-moving global environment.
Required qualifications and experience include: 5+ years of experience in vendor management, commercial operations, procurement, Fin Ops, or technical/financial analysis in a senior ownership role.
Proven experience managing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, renewals, and commercial optimization initiatives.
Strong understanding of procurement governance processes, including competitive bids, benchmarks, approval workflows, and vendor performance management.
Ability to analyze cloud and Saa S spending data, identify optimization opportunities, and translate insights into business actions.
Hands-on experience creating cost dashboards and reporting using SQL, business intelligence tools, or similar analytical platforms.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, Saa S billing models, licensing structures, and technology cost management.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
High level of ownership, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence teams without direct authority.
Experience working in remote, distributed, or asynchronous environments.
Ability to thrive in ambiguity and build processes, systems, and functions from the ground up.
