This role will oversee the development and optimisation of our digital commerce experiences, ensuring they align with business objectives and deliver seamless customer experiences. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, headless storefronts, and microservice-driven architectures utilising REST API’s such as SCAPI and OCAPI.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical LeadershipDrive technical excellence by promoting best practices in software development, architecture, and engineering processes. Guide the team in leveraging REST APIs within a microservice-driven ecosystem to enhance scalability and maintainability. Challenge technical approaches, encouraging innovation and ensuring strategic, future-proof technical decisions.Team ManagementLead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. Support engineers\’ professional growth through guidance, coaching, and technical mentorship. Build and maintain effective relationships across teams to create a productive and cooperative environment.Project DeliveryWork closely with Product Managers to prioritise engineering efforts that align with business objectives. Clearly and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical peers, ensuring alignment between engineering and business goals.Process ImprovementFoster continuous improvement in engineering processes and workflows. Encourage the adoption of modern development methodologies and best practices. Ensure effective collaboration with UX designers, Product Managers, and cross-functional teams to optimize delivery.Technical SkillsHands-on technical background with experience in software development, architecture, or related fields. Experience working with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, headless commerce solutions, and API-driven architectures. Expertise in microservices, understanding cloud technologies, and modern software development practices. Strong knowledge of React, React Native and NodeThe Experience We Are Looking ForProven experience as a Senior Software Engineer or Lead Software Engineer within a retail environment.Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud essential. Strong programming background, with proficiency in React, node, React Native, JavaScript or equivalent languages.
