This is an excellent opportunity to join a consistent and friendly team supporting someone who enjoys companionship, culture, and a good conversation.About the Role:Supporting a male client in his own home with personal care, mobility, and day-to-day tasks. He has a high-levelSpinal Cord Injury(SCI).He enjoys music, conversation, and traditional Brazilian meals. Portuguese is his native language, and while he speaks English, he is most comfortable communicating in Portuguese.He lives independently with a rota that includestwo carers during the day and carer support overnight . Night care is important as he is a light sleeper and requires repositioning support throughout the night.Due to the intimate nature of the personal care required, and to ensure the client’s privacy and dignity, this role is open tofemale carers only . This is a genuine occupational requirement permitted underSchedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010 .As his carer, you will be supporting with personal care, medication prompts, hoisted transfers, daily stretches, meal preparation, communication support, and companionship.Job Details:Job Type: Day shifts (8am – 8pm), Waking night shifts (8pm – 8am)Pay Rate: £15.00/hour on weekdays, £18.00/hour on weekends and nightsLocation: Sussex, BN8 (near Lewes / Brighton) – easy parkingDriver: Helpful due to rural locationStart Date: To be confirmedWhat We’re Looking For:A calm, friendly, and professional female support worker confident in team settings. Experience with hoisting or SCI care is helpful but not essential.Interest in Brazilian culture or Portuguese language is a bonus.Training & Support: We provide full training in SCI and neurological care to support you in caring for this gentleman, ensuring you have the necessary skills to deliver excellent care.Additional Information: This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys providing one-to-one support and making a positive difference in someone’s life.
