The Electoral Commission are looking for a Senior Regulatory Support Adviser to join their regulatory support team.

Salary: Band: C grade: £40,031 - £42,033 per annum DOE

Location: London, Cardiff, Edinburgh or Belfast office locations (Hybrid 3 Days WFH) or Homebased (London allowance of £3,217 on top of base salary)

About Us: The Electoral Commission is the independent body which oversees elections and regulates political finance in the UK. We’re here to ensure the UK’s elections are well-run and the public have confidence in democratic processes.

The Role: As part of the regulatory support team, you’ll work closely with the Regulatory Support Manager and Guidance Team to help political parties, campaigners, agents, and volunteers understand election and party finance laws. You’ll design and deliver engagement strategies, promote our support services, and respond to stakeholder enquiries. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder networks are key to ensuring our guidance is accessible, timely, and valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of briefing events, webinars, and advice surgeries to support compliance with electoral law, both year-round and ahead of key events
  • Develop and implement engagement strategies to promote our support services, ensuring accessibility for parties and campaigners of all sizes and experience levels
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of political stakeholders, representing the Commission at relevant meetings
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders to assess and improve the effectiveness of the Commission's guidance and resources
  • Work with the Regulatory Support Manager to expand the use of digital tools and online portals to better meet stakeholder needs
  • Identify high-impact opportunities for proactive support and ensure our approach remains risk-led and proportionate

You:

  • Educated to at least GCSE/O Level standard or have equivalent relevant experience
  • Experienced in building and managing relationships with external stakeholders
  • Committed to delivering high-quality customer service, including handling challenging or demanding stakeholders
  • Skilled in sourcing accurate information using various methods, with strong attention to detail
  • Confident in providing clear information to the public or stakeholders
  • Proven track record of delivering results and driving continuous improvement
