Your Role
Help ensure compliance with radiological protection standards, policies, and site requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and support a Radiation Protection Strategy tailored to our activities.
- Analyze regulatory requirements (IRR17 & REPPIR) and support site compliance.
- Offer radiological safety advice to achieve ALARP compliance.
- Analyze data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Prepare clear guidance for radiological practices.
- Conduct radiation risk assessments and implement controls.
- Advise on instruments and their suitability for surveillance and waste sentencing.
- Support design and installation of new radiation processes.
- Assist waste management with radiological expertise.
- Investigate incidents, capture lessons, and recommend actions.
- Draft and review radiological documents like site instructions and ALARP assessments.
- Support business growth by assessing and communicating radiological risks.

What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent experience.
- Valid Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) Certificate or nearing completion.
- In-depth knowledge of UK ionizing radiation regulations (IRR17, REPPIR).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Strong understanding of ALARP principles.
Bonus Points
- Experience as a Radioactive Waste Adviser, Process Owner, or Subject Matter Expert.
- Knowledge of Nuclear Site Licence conditions and radioactive waste management.
- Expertise in radiation protection instrumentation and transport arrangements.
- Membership in the Society of Radiological Protection (MSRP or above).
