We are Tommies Childcare. Since 1998, we have provided exciting and memorable early years experiences for children aged 0 - 5 years. We are looking for a highly talented and experienced Early Years Practitioner who can demonstrate leadership and inspiration, both in their approach to early education and supporting the team.
What do we look for?
When you work at Tommies, you will be doing one of the most important jobs in the world: nurturing, protecting and helping children grow into well-balanced, happy and self-assured adults. Practitioners and educators at Tommies understand the value of following the child's lead and placing their own interests at the heart of everything they do. You will be supporting children's learning "in the moment", which means you will need to think on your feet and create activities that meet the requirements of the EYFS based on what you know the children enjoy doing. Not only that, you will be putting your leadership skills to the test by upskilling and inspiring your colleagues, as well as supporting the day-to-day running of the nursery alongside the Deputy and Nursery Manager.
What we can do for you
You bring the enthusiasm and skills to succeed, and we will offer you a place in an organisation that truly values you and the work you do. You will have the opportunity to make your voice heard through the annual 'b-Heard' survey. This independent employee engagement survey gives you the platform to tell us what it's like to be a valued member of the Tommies team. Every year since 2019, the results of our surveys have placed us in the official Best Companies to Work For lists. That is because, for us, phrases like 'we support employee wellbeing and staff welfare' aren't just soundbites. They are core principles here at Tommies.
Extraordinary place to work, with extraordinary benefits
As well as a competitive salary, you will receive an exceptional benefits package. All Tommies team members receive a minimum of:
- 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing up to 25 days through length of service)
- Earn up to 4 days additional annual leave per year through good attendance
- 30% childcare discount (increasing to 40% for Deputy Managers, and 50% for Nursery Managers)
- 10% friends & family childcare discount
- 8 hours per year to attend appointments or events that support your wellbeing
- 6 weeks full maternity pay (increasing to 6 weeks full maternity pay + 6 weeks half maternity pay for Deputy Managers and Nursery Managers)
- Special rewards for Good and Outstanding Ofsted gradings
- Employee referral scheme
- An annual awards ceremony
- Plenty of training and development opportunities
